128 Participants Raise Money for Charity
Under perfect skies, AIS Industrial Supply hit a symbolic “hole-in-one” at its annual golf outing held on October 10 at Murphy Creek Golf Course in Aurora, drawing a record 128 people and raising money for charity. This year’s event was dedicated to Coby Christensen, who passed away this March. Coby was the son of our founder Paul J. Christensen.

“Coby worked for AIS for over 60 years,” said AIS President & CEO Dale Hahs. “A big man with a kind heart, he poured his heart and soul into the business. Dedicating our annual golf outing to his memory was a small measure of how important he was to us all.” Everyone at the event received a “Coby Christensen Golf Ball” with his picture on it, and were encouraged to take fun photos of the ball being used in various ways on the golf course.

The golf outing annually combines fun with charitable giving, and this year’s recipient was First Tee – Green Valley Ranch, which empowers children and teens through golf. The kids from the First Tee organization participated by offering to extend putts on one hole and extend the drives on another hole – all for donations. “It was great to see young golfers enjoying and excelling at a game that they can play the rest of their lives!” said AIS Vice President Taylor Hahs.
Other fun facts about the level of charity donations at the golf outing and other activities included:
- All donations by players went to First Tee
- AIS sold “mulligans” (extra strokes allowed) with proceeds going toward the charity
- There were on-site massages for aching golfers, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity
- Raffle tickets featured many prizes donated by vendors
From a sponsorship perspective, Apex Tool Group and JPW were the Platinum sponsors for the golf outing and their participation & support in this regard was most appreciated.
Additional vendors who supported the event included many tool and supply vendors as well as other important business partners of AIS:
- CRC
- Creative Bearings
- Dewalt
- Ergodyne
- First Tee
- First Western Trust Bank
- Greenlee
